i am not going to lie i reclaim it only because I call myself and things that. lol. i dont cal people the r slur be ause why the HELL would i do thay hello. but i think its reclaimable in the same way Faggot is

imo I can reclaim the r slur (I'm autistic), faggot, tranny, and beaner, but the disabled community took back that slur as a way to use it playfully and not in a derogatory way (EX. that's so retarded)

it depends on the person. I don't say it cause I think it is highly offensive to anyone & imo there is no way to reclaimable cause the meaning of it is just really bad & offensive. ppl in my school cant reclaim it and still say it for some reason... like I don't understand them but shrug

the r slur was meant to describe mental conditions but over time people started to use the word to call people stupid or slow. imo theres genuinely no way to reclaim it now without it being derogatory or insulting in some way shape or form

I reclaim it in the way where i use it to refer to myself because I’ve had it used against me in that way so I’ll literally use it as a descriptor … i get why someone would be uncomfortable with it but then again All Slurs are derogatory so idk why the r slur in specific gets singled out

it is reclaimable but some people say it isn't if you use it as an insult because you're using it for its intended purpose that makes it a slur in the first place if that makes sense

I’ve only seen people reclaim it to use it in an insulting way. Ex: Calling others the slur as if they aren’t perpetuating usage of it casually by others. The only way one would be able to use the word in a reclaimed sense is for its literal definition — some thing that is slow, not up to date, etc. Just not a person.
