A little bit of actions, a little bit of looks, but mostly Isabelle believes it's something innate about her that she can't turn off - but also if she was really a good person, if she really wanted it to stop and be over as much as she claims she does, she would be trying harder and would be able to turn it off. She oscillates between despairing helplessness and vicious self-blame.
