AWW THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! i think i somewhat answered this before but i'll take this chance add some more now i’ve done more art with it!
the more i drew it the more i came to associate it with distress and feelings rather than just Guts! :-) specially the one with battat coming out of the mike suit (titled mike surprise in twt and yolk everywhere else) the fetti could be seen being mike's guts, battat's feelings (organs?) cue the heart, something that he would've liked to be kept in but now its out, and he can't put back (you don't put confetti back into a piñata, you just swipe it and throw it into the trash!!!!) the sheer helplessness of having his innards shown like that in front of someone else and still clinging to the suit, (his foot is hooked to the mike body, he still got it!!!) perhaps out of shame, or attachment. either way, he can't let go, he will not let go no matter what, but what's inside is now out and he's not happy about it.
the other confetti pics i did were friendpins and in all of them i used them as a replacement for blood and gore, mostly for aesthetic reasons since the colors pop A LOT against FRIEND's body and the dark backgrounds. i lean more towards the themes of parasitism with these two, but this question isn't about that, so i won't elaborate!! (please!! ask me about my parasite!!!)
so basically, confetti means something along the lines of 'walking into a surprise party you absolutely did not want to participate in but everyone is there, the party is already ongoing now, and you have no way to reverse it or avoid it.' but the party is inside your chest and it's bursting out against your will. sometimes in front of people you definitely do not want to see your confetti. and also IMAGE_FRIEND is there for some reason.
