honestly my answer is a bit complicated... i think no matter what, if you're part of a team then leaving (regardless of your reason) does have a degree of selfishness because you do affect that team to a certain extent... like in a kpop group, the members have to rearrange the lines, change the choreo, some fans that bias you will stop supporting the team, the members will be hurt by your decision etc. however being selfish isn't necessarily a bad thing. we only have one life so i don't hold it against idols if they want to leave their groups and try something new! tbh my feelings about the mark and heeseung situation are a little different. for mark, i really respect that he gave the team his all and worked very hard during the time period that he was with them until the very end of his contract. he respected his role, the members expectations of him at that time, and what he promised. for heeseung, i do respect his vision and decision of wanting to have a solo career but i do feel a bit odd about the way he left before his contract ended and the vague comments the members have made about the situation. i think leaving before a contract ends so suddenly can be quite hurtful to those who have worked hard alongside you for all of those years... that's all i have to say~ but i agree with you about it being important to choose yourself and do what you love (as long as you can survive too)!! that's why even when i don't like their decisions or feel skeptical about their actions (only talking about career actions btw not the recent situation) i just say nothing about it on main lol. thank you lovely!! i hope you get to do whatever you love as well, wishing you nothing but the best <3
