you mean the baikal perhaps? i am unsure! i know the times i have drawn him as a little seal pup he is based on a harp seal and normally i talk about him as a leopard seal... though i am pretty sure all seals tend to express excess salt through their tears via crying, at least the ones that live in salt/brackish waters. it is a trait they share with the likes of turtles and such! very nifty adaptation to deal with all the salt water they consume
