Racehorse Hyunho are old and wrinkled with chickens running around inside of their house. The next time Seungmin and Jeongin come over, they each raise an eyebrow at the unusual amount of feathers in the living room.

We needed witnesses, they tell them.

For what, a crime? they ask.

For our wedding.

Seungmin and Jeongin are furious that they weren’t invited.

But before that, Hyunjin and Minho spend too much time at the craft store picking out yarn. Hyunjin wants to get blue. The sweater he’s knitting is for Felix, you see. Felix loves blue, you see.

It’s summer, though, Minho says. Nobody needs a sweater right now.

It’s winter in Australia, Hyunjin says. Maybe we should get pink, too. For Jisung.

But before that, Hyunjin and Minho are painting the walls of their old house a new color. Powder blue. For now, at least. Hyunjin thinks it might be nice to add a design. Flowers, maybe, along the trim, or vines in all the corners.

That sounds lovely, Minho says.

A project for another time, Hyunjin says. I saw Changbin at the hardware store.

How’d that go? Minho asks.

About as well as it could’ve. He’s a dad now.

But before that, Hyunjin and Minho are showing up at Chaeryeong’s studio to pester their niece. Chaeryeong threatens to call the police if she ever sees their faces again. Instead, she calls Yeji and they all catch up over dinner.

But before that, Hyunjin and Minho link hands on their sofa as the TV plays another episode of a drama they aren’t really watching, too wrapped up in a blanket and in one another as they realize, simultaneously, that they have a house now. They have kittens now. They have a little niece who lights up when she sees them. They have each other, too, even after all this time.

But before that, Hyunjin and Minho are in the countryside, each sporting wounds that hurt and healed and hurt again. Hyunjin sits on a swing. Minho sits on Hyunjin.

You know how I feel about you, right? How I’ve always felt?

But before that, Hyunjin was with someone else. Minho was married. Hyunjin was going for principal dancer. Minho was in Japan. Hyunjin was trying to date girls. Minho was trying to date boys. Hyunjin was alone on the playground. Minho found him there.

Hyunjin knows how Minho feels about him. It’s the same way he feels, too. Even after all this time. Even with chickens running around in of their house.
