Hmm I think for me, it would depend on the context. For example (I'm guessing this wasn't the case with the bot..) if my partner's friend was dying or injured, then I think I'd be okay with them spending time with their friend. The last thing I'd want is to feel controlling. However, I have enough self respect to be able to clearly know when someone really doesn't care. Context matters! Many relationships break as a result of poor communication. If my partner can clearly talk to me about how they feel about me then it leads to a stronger relationship. A relationship ends as soon as communication from either party becomes completely dishonest.
Side note: this is simply how I view it, I don't have much relationship experience...
