girl it wasn't lea, she was at another location at that time near her apartment and that’s seems to have been confirmed. from what i got told though, kai did go againts the company's advice about staying silent and off social media because he literally had nothing to hide and that's not his type of personality. although i don’t remember anymore the identity of the friend it seemed to be a childhood type of friend and pretty much lined up with the explanation he actually gave. since he chose to talk directly to fans though, he was strongly advised to keep a very present sm presence and engage with moas heavily so yeah those weverse messages were for sure made to appease us lol. there's another theory though that hybe is struggling with money lately having to do some budget cuts here and there so maybe that's why they didn’t bother to pay for the video not to be released? it's hard to actually know what bighit idols actually want or are mandated to do because their contracts are a lot looser than other company's though... it's all worded in "heavily advised" "strongly encouraged" "would be preferable" so a lot of it is based on speculations. Either way, since january this year is the new renewed contract that's been put in place so we have yet to see the new policies and what the members argued internally to add. Hopefully they're more foward about their lives with fans, especially soobin who's the one who likes to share the most. i hope yeonjun gets comfortable to share things with moa again too, i kinda miss him tbh
