no babes, yoojun is the dollar store version proxy for yeonjun. since yeonbin are contractually prohibited by the company from being seen going on dates together, doing lovestagrams or being too obvious about wearing matching couple accessories, soobin asked his friend yoojun to act as a stand-in for yeonjun in order to convince fans that soobin is gay and dating another male idol whose name sounds suspiciously like "yeonjun". soobin was hoping for a few things to happen by making it look like he's dating yoojun:

1. soobin wanted fans to wake up and realize he is gay and to also realize which ACTUAL male idol with the initials "yj" soobin has actually been dating.

2. he wanted delusional soogyu shippers to get a reality check and realize that there is no way soogyu are dating based on their "lovestagrams" and "couple dates" when those things are obviously FANSERVICE since they're in the same group, whereas soobin did similar things with yoojun (going to taiwan just the two of them on korean valentine's day, going on amusement park date together, getting matching bracelets and keychains, posting lovestagram type pics, etc) except soobin and yoojun's coupley activities are 50x gayer than soogyu's because there is no possible fanservice reason for soobin to publicize his relationship with yoojun since yoojun is a complete nugu.

3. soobin probably wanted to convince his fans and the public he's dating a male idol so that he'd have negotiating leverage against the company to point to it as a "proof of concept" when arguing that the company should let him and yeonjun be more openly gay. like saying "there's no point to censoring my relationship with yeonjun so much, since all my fans already think i'm gay and dating a male idol".

4. soobin wanted to use it as part of the ridiculously confusing ghost girl reveal album concept thing (that didn't really pan out cuz they couldn't release ep 3 of hello strangers), where they were going to reveal that all of yeonbin's fake past dating rumors were supposed to be "proxies" for the other in the public record. so like beomgyu and yoojun were proxies/stand-ins for yeonjun, and all of their publicly known coupley activities with soobin were supposed to be revealed to have been about yeonjun all along. (as i said, this part hasn't happened yet cuz fans are dumb af and didn't pick up on the ghost girl concept without hello strangers ep 3 shocking them out of their comatose stupidity)
