Panel 108, third slide — that line really stayed with me: “Magsisikap muna ako hanggang afford ko nang magmahal.” It’s not just a quote — it’s a reality so many of us silently live. When you're constantly worried about rent, bills, and where the next meal is coming from, love becomes something you put on hold. Not because you don’t want it, but because you feel like you have nothing to offer. You tell yourself, “Let me fix my life first. Let me earn. Let me stand on my own.” And maybe it’s sad, maybe it’s practical — but for some of us, that’s the only kind of love we feel we’re allowed to give: the kind that waits until it’s no longer a burden. hi, anon! kung sino ka man, congratulations for making me shed tears less than an hour before my shift. thank youuuuu so much for sending this. this is soooo beautiful... and painful. may nabasa ako dati, ang sabi, "choose to be with someone you feel safe being a burden to because at some point in life, we're gonna be a burden to someone." at kapag dumating man 'yung puntong 'yon, sana nasa tamang tao tayo, na hindi ipaparamdam sa atin na pabigat tayo sa kanila, because they truly care for us, and love us, including our ugly parts, our emotional baggage, everything. but yeah, it's really hard to give love when we feel like we have nothing to offer kasi ikaw mismo sa sarili mo, pakiramdam mo, ubos ka na agad. but the thing is, pag-ibig mismo 'yung pwede mong ibigay, at tanggapin. sa paniniwala ko, walang taong nauubusan ng pagmamahal sa sistema. maaaring mapagod, maaaring magpahinga, pero magmamahal pa rin. tulad ni dane, pagod, pero maraming pagmamahal sa lola niya, sa kapatid niya, sa mama niya. anyway, ang haba na nito hahaha love you too!! thank you for reading flicker and appreciating it! ♥️
