I think I like them mostly because they feel like Normal People that you could actually meet in real life (assuming you mean the gls) and not in like a miserable way either. It reminds me of why I like sci-fi (and spec fiction in general) it appeals to my sense of hope about people instead of my cynicism, which is very handy given um. My ongoing agoraphobia recovery.
