- the way chaining lights removes their ability to cancel the button, so you have to manually time the last one as a link, feels like absolute shit. Feels bad, deeply unintuitive, and really doesnt ADD anything to the game
- and related, sf4 is a game which pretty strongly leans into links as its combo scaffold. Sf4 also has no input buffer for normals. This is fine in a vacuum, but generally with how sf4 actually executed things, it means that frame perfect links are everywhere. This isnt necessarily even a bad thing, i do think sf4's 1f links are slightly overblown, but it IS a genuine problem on some characters where youll pick them up and you wanna start digging into The Sauce and turns out all the sauce is locked behind god damn 1 framers. Not a fan.
- revenge meter sucks. It just fucking does. As a resource, theres very little decision-making, they are mechanically inevitable, and their greatest sin is that they render 99% of the game's supers utterly pointless, because supers actually have to actually compete with ex moves wrt resources.
- as someone who likes pressing medium and heavy buttons, sf4 favors lights HEAVILY at a high level and i just dont vibe with that, press a real button pussy
-i dont care for how harsh its combo scaling is. Lotta shit scales down to a point where it is simply unsatisfying. This isnt even a balance thing its just, i dont like it. If i do super and im only taking on double digit damage at the end of a combo im pissed
- fuck cammy
- fuck decapre
- fuck yun and yang
- justice 4 T Hawk
- Elena did nothing wrong
Despite all this, i actually still like aspects of 4, but its not a game i return to often.
