Bard, I always wanted to know, where did the name Bard came from?
It's actually quite an arbitrary sequence of events that lead me to this screen name!
Many, many years ago I was starting a new game of Fire Emblem Awakening and was seeking a new name for my main character, because what I'd been using in games and online was starting to feel old. The protagonist is able to class change into almost every class in the game that isn't gender locked, and that kind of reminded me of how D&D Bards are a jack of all trades. I had also just been playing Dragon Quest IX, in which you start as the Minstrel class, which is basically a Bard, so the idea was fresh in my mind.
Once I had been playing for a little while I reflected on how much I liked the name. It felt like it was an apt description for myself, being the sort to have a lot of interests but never going too deeply or obsessively into them, which also seemed to match that D&D class aspect. So I decided that a rebranding was in order, and switched from my old username of Stryke to Bard on a permanent basis.
