I have a north african grandpa and a vietnamese great-grandma but am functionally white. In my entire life, I dealt one (1) time with a racist cop who thought he was racially profiling me until I spoke french and then he was like "oh sorry I thought- nevermind".

I understand why some people with a tiny bit of non-white ancestry like to reclaim it, but I feel it'd be dishonest to reclaim myself of any color besides white, because most of the non-white culture I absorbed growing up was from friends, and not family.

Lynn's Chinese because while I was drawing her first concept design, my Chinese friends were like "Can she be Chinese please" and I was like "Sure!"
I feel comfortable writing her because of the people I grew up with and those currently chipping in to provide insight for the specific cultural aspects of Lynn's life. I don't think she'd have been so fleshed-out without their contributions!
